GLOBAL OBJECTIVE To establish an integrated, reliable and operational spatial, infrastructure, risk and communication baseline for the WAPNP intervention, providing the Contracting Authority and relevant national institutions with the required evidence, planning tools and stakeholder-engagement mechanisms. ➢ Specific objectives 1. To strengthen the spatial and territorial knowledge base of the WAPNP, providing reliable and appropriately validated information on the park boundary, existing infrastructure and the principal spatial conditions affecting its future management and physical demarcation. 2. To improve the capacity of the Contracting Authority and relevant national institutions to prioritise and plan the intervention on the basis of risk, through an integrated understanding of boundary pressures, encroachment dynamics and disaster risks, with particular attention to landslides and flooding. 3. To strengthen informed understanding, participation and institutional support for the WAPNP intervention, by communicating the park’s importance, the content and preparatory nature of the intervention, the applicable decision-making processes and the opportunities available for stakeholder dialogue and engagement at community, national and international levels.
