📢 Call for applications: Research Continuity Grants for Africa

When conflict, floods, droughts or epidemics strike, research is often among the first casualties. Fieldwork stops. Labs are damaged. Teams are displaced. Promising studies are left unfinished, and with them, knowledge that countries need to understand risk and recover.

UNESCO’s Science for Crisis Response and Solutions (SCRS) Programme is launching its first pilot call to help African scientists get that work back on track.

🔹 6 grants of USD 2,000, paid to the scientist’s host institution
🔹 Natural sciences (interdisciplinary welcome if the core is natural science)
🔹 For research interrupted by conflict or a natural or biological hazard in the past three years, or still affected by one
🔹 Up to six months to resume or complete a clearly defined part of the work
Who can apply: scientists of any African nationality, based at a recognized university or research institute in Africa, with at least a Master’s degree or equivalent.

Women scientists, researchers under 40, and scientists from LDCs and African SIDS are strongly encouraged to apply.
