Local recruitment: Software Developer / Scientist - WEAP Platform

Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI)

Davis, CA, USA 🇺🇸

Home-based/Remote

WEAP is one of the world’s leading platforms for integrated water resources planning. Governments, utilities, researchers and NGOs use it to plan for drought, climate adaptation, groundwater management and sustainable water use, from California to communities around the globe. We are looking for a software developer with scientific curiosity who wants to build tools that matter. WEAP has been in active development for more than 25 years, and you will help carry it forward. Working directly with WEAP’s lead developer and senior modelers, you will learn the platform in depth and take on a central role in its ongoing development. You will help bring AI-assisted capabilities and cloud-based tools into the software, and work with researchers and modelers to turn real-world water challenges into robust, usable software.

Build a career at SEI with a platform at the center of our water work, in the US and across our global centers. Your code will shape how water is planned and shared, and how people’s lives are affected by those decisions.
