- Salary: £28,000 – £34,000 DOE
- Contract: Full-time, five-year fixed-term

The Tees Rivers Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Environmental Education Officer to develop and deliver engaging environmental learning opportunities across the Tees Catchment.
Supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, TISP is a five-year, catchment-scale project tackling invasive non-native species while inspiring communities to understand, value and protect their local rivers and landscapes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging environmental education sessions for schools, colleges and community groups.
- Create educational resources, lesson plans and activity materials.
- Deliver outdoor learning, including river activities, biodiversity surveys and citizen science.
- Build relationships with schools, communities, local authorities and partner organisations.
- Deliver workshops, presentations and public engagement activities.
- Support project events, communications, monitoring and evaluation.
- Ensure activities follow safeguarding, health and safety and inclusivity best practice.
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience working in education, community engagement or a similar setting.
- Experience developing relationships with schools, community groups or other organisations.
- Strong communication, organisational and presentation skills.
- Experience of outdoor learning or environmental education is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.
- DBS check required.
