Austin Water’s Engineering and Technical Services program area is seeking its next Supervising Engineer! Our top candidate will lead an engineering team responsible for water and wastewater pipeline risk assessment and project scoping of Capital Improvement Projects around the city of Austin.
This Supervising Engineer will work within a large and complex department that:
*Employs over 1,500 employees
* Has multiple facilities across a wide geographical area
*Provides drinking water and wastewater services to over one million customers in the Austin area
*Manages over 40,000 acres of preserve land for drinking water quality and endangered species habitat.
Our ideal candidate will have:
*Experience in scoping and prioritizing CIP projects and developing CIP plans.
*Experience with condition, criticality, and risk analysis for water and wastewater horizontal assets such as water and sewer pipes.
*Ability to support staff participating in a rotating on‑call schedule for 24/7 emergency response to Sanitary Sewer Overflows.
*Ability to traverse rugged terrain to reach wastewater collection systems components that are located in remote areas with or without reasonable accommodation.
*Ability to travel to more than one work location.
