Offer Description

Collaboration in activities within the framework of the SedTrail project. 
The main goal of the project is to develop a comprehensive framework for assessing and quantifying the sediment load from watersheds to reservoirs. In this context, the fellow will support Professor Carina Almeida in pursuing these objectives, namely through hydrological modeling with the SWAT model, continuing its calibration and validation.
The current open call is awarded as a Portuguese initiation scholarship (BIC) to fund undergraduate students involved in the project (1801p.01549.1.01) SedTrail – 2023.17943.ICDT-00840300 which is supported by the Lisbon Regional Funding Programme (Lisboa 2030), LISBOA2030-FEDER-00840300, n.º 14853 and Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia I. P. (FCT), as an intermediate beneficiary.

Benefits

Monthly maintenance scholarship corresponds to € 651.12, according to the table of values defined in the FCT Research Grants regulation, https://www.fct.pt/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Tabela_valores_SMM_2025.p… payment is made monthly by bank transfer.

Selection process

The selection method applied will follow

A) motivation letter (50%);

B) relevance and suitability of the previous course for the research project (50%).

The selected jury will be lead by Prof. Carina Almeida, with fffective vowels Prof. Anabela Cruces and Prof. Hilda de Pablo Subs and supporting staff Prof. Francisco Pinto

The current position will be focused on collaboration in the activities envisaged within the framework of the SedTrail project.
Essentially, the development of a comprehensive framework for assessing and quantifying the sediment load from watersheds to reservoirs namely through hydrological modeling with the SWAT modeling, continuing its calibration and validation, across the study.
