Technologies and solutions for monitoring and reducing the impact of vehicles on soil and water quality via EURAXESS

Istituto di Scienze e Tecnologie per l'Energia e la Mobilità Sostenibili

Napoli, Italy 🇮🇹

Offer Description

The research program aims to establish an integrated monitoring framework (e.g., combining point measurements and remote sensing) to assess the impact of vehicular and agricultural traffic on soil and water quality in urban and peri-urban environments. The study considers impacts on soil physical and hydraulic properties and water availability, as well as soil and water degradation processes such as nutrient depletion and pollution (including plant protection products, microplastics, and NEEs). Finally, advanced multimodal analysis of the collected data is used to identify technical solutions and guidelines for mitigating these impacts across various scenarios.
