Offer Description
Mission:
Provide support in the application of the WEFE nexus approach and artificial intelligence tools for the identification, modeling, evaluation and prioritization of nature-based solutions adapted to the Mediterranean context.
Functions to be developed:
- Participate in the development and application of methodologies based on the WEFE nexus approach to assess interactions between water, energy, food and ecosystems
- Collaborate in the development of the artificial intelligence tool for scenario modeling and the recommendation of nature-based solutions adapted to different territorial contexts
- Identify and systematize relevant data, indicators and parameters for modeling WEFE nexus scenarios
- Prepare technical reports, deliverables, methodological materials, presentations, publications and dissemination content.

Skills/Qualifications
Technical Skills:
- Methodologies of the WEFE nexus to case studies and territorial planning processes.
- Tools based on artificial intelligence: ability to collaborate in design, application and validation.
- Collaborative digital tools.
- Project management and information analysis.
Specific Requirements
Knowledge:
- Artificial intelligence tools applied to modeling, scenario analysis and decision-making support.
- WEFE nexus approach and analysis of interactions between water, energy, food and ecosystems.
- Nature-based solutions for sustainable and resilient water management.
- Indigenous and local knowledge systems related to water and land management.
- Cultural and water heritage, ancestral hydrotechnologies and water cultures.
Work Experience:
- In planning, organizing, monitoring tasks and meeting deadlines.
- In water resources, sustainability, nature-based solutions, artificial intelligence applied to sustainability and participatory processes of co-creation with communities and territorial actors.
- In projects or activities developed with indigenous communities and local communities.
- In the management or execution of projects related to cultural and water heritage, water cultures or ancestral hydrotechnologies in Latin America and the Caribbean.
- Minimum of four years in research, innovation, cooperation or transfer projects related to the WEFE nexus approach
- Experience in functions similar to those described will be valued, specifically in the development of research activities, both in the university and industrial environment.
Additional Information
Benefits
€38,684.20/gross per year (full-time).
Eligibility criteria
All the candidates who cannot prove the required academic degree will be immediately withdrawn from the selection process.
The CVs will be assessed according the following general criteria:
- The maximum score for the candidates who accomplish all the eligibility criteria stated in the job offer will be 10 points.
- Threshold: 5 points.
- The maximum score (10 points) will be distributed as follows:
- 1 point for required speciality.
- 2 points for required academic training.
- 2 points for technic competences.
- 1 point for organisational competences.
- 3 points for professional experience.
- 1 point for any aspect of the candidate’s professional profile to be determined as specially relevant by the Selection committee.
If the selection committee decide to include a personal interview as additional step of the selection process, only the candidates scored 5 or above for their CV will be retained for the interview step.
The interview will be assessed according the following criteria:
- Maximum scoring: 5 points.
- Threshold: 3 points.
- The maximum score will be distributed according the following criteria:
- 2 points for adequacy to functional competences of the job.
- 2 points for adequacy of professional experience.
- 1 point for any aspect of the candidate’s professional profile to be determined as especially relevant by the Selection committee.
The eligible candidates will be ranked from highest to lowest score, being this the selection criteria.
