Offer Description
The University of Oviedo is seeking an outstanding postdoctoral researcher to join the research project STEPCAM (PID2024-157050NB-I00).
The successful candidate will investigate the mechanisms controlling the dissolution, precipitation and polymorphic transformations of calcium and lithium carbonates in aqueous systems, with applications to environmental remediation, critical raw materials recovery and sustainable mineral processing.
The research will combine laboratory experimentation with advanced characterization techniques and data analysis to study water-rock interactions, crystallization processes and metal immobilization.
Main responsibilities include:
- Design and conduct laboratory experiments.
- Characterize materials using advanced analytical techniques (XRD, SEM-EDS, ICP-OES/ICP-MS, FTIR, Raman and thermal analysis).
- Process and statistically analyse experimental data.
- Prepare scientific publications and present results at international conferences.
- Collaborate with national and international research partners.
- Contribute to the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students
