- Background of the recruitment and description of the projectThe associate professor will belong to the Water-related Disaster Research Division and will be in charge of teaching and research related to coastal disasters such as storm surges, waves, and tsunamis, secondary disasters caused by driftwood and garbage, and future risks due to climate change using numerical simulation, hydraulic model experiments, field observation, and AI technology.

Teaching Responsibilities:
Undergraduate: basic subjects such as Coastal Hydraulics and applied subjects such as Coastal Zone Management Engineering.
Graduate: applied subjects and advanced subjects in the relevant specialized fields.
These lectures in the Department of Civil Engineering will share ones both in the undergraduate and graduate international courses in Japanese and English. - Education and Degree RequirementsPh.D. / Doctor
- Description(1) Doctoral. or Ph.D. degree at the time of appointment.
(2) Have sufficient teaching ability (including instruction and lectures in Japanese and English) and enthusiasm for teaching and research in undergraduate and graduate doctoral programs.
(3) Have particularly outstanding research achievements in the above-mentioned specialized fields.
(4) The applicant should have the willingness and ability to actively engage in interdisciplinary research with other areas of specialization and the development of new research fields from a long-term perspective, in addition to the above-mentioned areas of specialization.
(5) Have the ability and enthusiasm to actively develop education and research activities from an international perspective and social cooperation with industry, government, etc.
