OFFER DESCRIPTION
The Catalan Institute for Water Research (ICRA) opens this call to incorporate a person who is responsible for the operational management, dynamization and monitoring of a strategic project linked to the Regions of Knowledge call, within the unit of the Laboratory of Social and Transformative Innovation of the ICRA (LIST-ICRA), supporting the general scientific coordination exercised by the main researcher of the project.
LIST is the coordination and support unit, linked to the ICRA strategy within the RIS3CAT2023 that promotes spaces for experimentation and collaboration with other knowledge agents, companies, public administrations and civil society to find solutions that contribute to the ICRA Research and Transformative Innovation Program (PRIT-ICRA). File UR01-004643-ICRA. This project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund of the European Union within the framework of the FEDER Programme of Catalonia 2021-2027, and in the RIS3CAT 2030, for the ICRA Transformative Research and Innovation Project (PRIT) – Exp: UR01-004643-ICRA.
In more detail, the mission of the Regions of Knowledge programme is to promote the participation of the knowledge system in transformative research and innovation. It is attached to the Department of Research and Universities of the Generalitat de Catalunya and, as mentioned, is co-financed with European funds from the FEDER programme. It is part of the 2030 RIS3CAT, the Strategy for Smart Specialisation in Catalonia, which aims to transform the socio-economic model to make it greener, digital, resilient and fairer.
The selected person will join a high-level research and innovation environment, and will play a key role in the operational coordination of the project within the LIST-ICRA, in the dialogue with the participating agents and in the support of the administrative and documentary management of a project with complex funding, including ERDF funds and contributions from other administrations and entities.
KEY DUTIES
The person hired will be responsible for the operational management and dynamization of the strategic project associated with the Regions of Knowledge call within the Social and Transformative Innovation Laboratory (LIST-ICRA) unit. Among others:
-plan and monitor the calendar of actions, milestones and deliverables;
-Internally coordinate the team involved in the project, including existing and new staff;
– organise work meetings, prepare agendas, draft minutes and follow up on the agreements adopted;
– facilitate dialogue and coordination with agents of the territory, administrations, participating entities and other relevant actors;
-To support the administrative and documentary management of the project;
-Collecting, preparing and reviewing technical and administrative documentation for monitoring reports, reports and verification processes;
– Participate in the administrative and economic justification of the project, ensuring the traceability of expenditure and the coherence between activities, budget and supporting documentation;
-Contribute to the audit, verification and continuous improvement processes of the project;
– Identify risks or needs in the execution and propose corrective or improvement measures.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Must have – Required
Research Field or Field of knowledge:
Knowledge of the European and international funding framework and experience in managing and coordinating research and innovation projects, especially in environments with competitive public funding and, preferably, in projects with FEDER funds
Qualifications and Education Level:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any field, provided that experience in the management of research or innovation projects and/or in the justification of publicly funded projects is accredited.
Skills:
Knowledge and experience are required in:
– Management and promotion of complex research and innovation projects;
-Capacity for planning, monitoring and operational coordination of multiple actions and teams;
-Skills of dialogue and work with various agents, including administrations, territorial entities, companies and scientific and technical teams;
-People management skills;
– Competences in the preparation and management of administrative and technical documentation;
-Economic justification and control of traceability of expenses;
-Clear and structured writing skills;
-Responsibility, proactivity and high degree of autonomy
-Rigor and orientation to results in collaborative environaments
Required Languages:
Catalan, Spanish and English, with a sufficient level for writing technical documentation and interacting with international partners.
Required Experience:
Minimum experience of 3 years in management and operational coordination of research, innovation or territorial development projects, preferably in research centres, universities, administration or public-private entities, including monitoring of execution, coordination of agents and preparation of reports.
Desirable
Experience in projects with competitive public funding;
Experience in administrative and economic justification of projects;
Experience in programmes with traceability and verification requirements, especially ERDF or equivalent;
Knowledge of the functioning of the Catalan research system and of the collaborative environments between public and private institutions.
