Your impact
We are seeking a Project Manager to support the delivery of projects within the water, environmental, and related infrastructure sectors.
The role involves managing projects across their full lifecycle, from early concept and planning through design, delivery, and close‑out.
The Project Manager will work within multidisciplinary teams, engage with a range of stakeholders, and contribute to the successful, safe, and sustainable delivery of projects. The role also includes supporting the development of junior project management staff where appropriate. The majority of projects assigned to this role will be located outside the country, requiring regular collaboration with international teams, clients, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead multidisciplinary teams through all project phases: feasibility, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning, appropriate to your level
- Manage project scope, budget, schedule, and risk to ensure successful delivery
- Agree and control budgets, escalation points, key milestones and targets.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation including programmes, cost plans, and progress reports
- Understand and manage contracts, including procurement of subcontracts
- Build and lead project teams of diverse individuals to actively engage with new ways of thinking to provide an agile delivery environment.
- Delegating and mentoring junior project managers/ assistant project managers
- Communicating with Clients and understanding their needs
- Promote and drive innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement across project delivery
Here’s what you’ll need
We would welcome applications from candidates with a proven track record in the design and project management of environmental, water or infrastructure projects, who have a demonstrable mix of the following skills and attributes;
- Proven experience in project management within infrastructure, water, environmental, or related sectors
- Strong understanding of core project management principles, including cost, time, quality, risk, and governance
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders and managing competing priorities
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
- Experience managing project budgets and schedules
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g. MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent)
- Ability to operate effectively in regulated and safety‑critical environments
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally, with occasional requirement to work from local Jacobs offices or client sites outside the country as project needs dictate
