| 2. Objectives | |
| To provide technical and research support for the successful installation, commissioning, operation, monitoring, troubleshooting, documentation, and performance evaluation of the decentralized sanitation technology pilot at Tulsiwadi- Mumbai, Maharashtra while ensuring adherence to engineering standards, safety protocols, and project implementation requirements. | |
| 3, Scope of work & Responsibilities | |
| The consultant will undertake the following tasks:Support the installation, assembly, commissioning, and testing of decentralized sanitation technology systems and associated mechanical and electrical components.Conduct routine operation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment to ensure uninterrupted system performance.Assist in field testing, process optimization, performance monitoring, and collection of technical and operational data for research and analysis.Maintain technical documentation, including maintenance logs, equipment inventories, inspection records, performance reports, and as-built drawings.Interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and process flow diagrams to support installation, modifications, and system improvements.Coordinate with project engineers, contractors, vendors, and field personnel to ensure timely execution of technical activities and resolution of field issues.Ensure compliance with project quality standards, occupational health and safety requirements, and standard operating procedures during all field activities.Support technical training, knowledge sharing, and demonstration activities for project stakeholders, while contributing to technical reporting and documentation for project dissemination and future scalability. | |

| 5. Timeline | |
| Project duration: 3 months (extendable). Consultant engagement shall be on a deliverable basis as approved by the Contract Manager. | |
| 6. Consultancy Fee | |
| Consultancy fee shall be paid on an approved consolidated amount basis against validated deliverables and invoices. Any travel shall be governed by the organization’s Travel Policy. | |
| 7. Requirements | |
| Educational Qualification & Experience:Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related technical discipline.Experience in prototype development, wastewater/environmental engineering, or process plants is desirable.Ability to read engineering drawings and use basic CAD software is preferred.Good communication skills in English and ability to work in multidisciplinary field teams.Professional Experience:Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in equipment installation, mechanical assembly, maintenance, fabrication, pilot projects, or sanitation/WASH infrastructure.Application :Application must be submitted via email to Indiacareers@waterforpeople.org with cc to abanerjee@waterforpeople.org with in 10th Aug,26 mentioning “Junior Technical Research Associate” in subject line | |
| 8. Contract Manager/Reporting: | |
| Project Manager /Sr. Manager – MSG / State Lead – MaharashtraNote: Consultant shall be required to use his/her own laptop, necessary software, and related equipment to perform the services under this Agreement. The Company shall not be responsible for providing any hardware or equipment for the same. | |
