TASKS/ROLE
* conducting scientific research and teaching activities (in Polish and English) in the field of hydraulic engineering, hydrology and water management, including elements of pollutant transport (such as hydraulics, hydrology, water law, water resources management, statistics, etc.)
* preparing grant applications and carrying out scientific as well as research and development projects
* publishing research results in scientific journals
* participating in the scientific and educational activities of the Department
* cooperating with industry
* engaging in organizational activities for the University

Skills/Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
* doctoral degree in the discipline of civil engineering, geodesy and transport or environmental engineering, mining and energy or Earth and environmental sciences or in former disciplines covering the above-mentioned fields
* significant scientific achievements documented by publications in JCR-listed journals
* teaching experience in conducting academic courses in hydraulic engineering, water management or hydrology
* fluent command of the Polish language
* command of the English language at a minimum B2 level
* ability to work in a team, strong communication skills, and commitment to scientific and educational development
* ability to identify and solve scientific and research problems
* ability to prepare scientific publications and conference presentations
* independence in carrying out assigned tasks, diligence and openness to new initiatives
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
* experience in mathematical modelling
* experience in planning and interpreting hydraulic laboratory and field investigations
* experience in preparing project proposals and carrying out projects funded by national and international sources
* experience in conducting scientific work abroad
* organizational experience (e.g. conference organization)

The eligibility criteria will relate to the requirements of a given competition and will concern a qualitative and quantitative assessment of the candidate’s qualifications, competences, experience and achievements.
