We are seeking an Industrial Water Analyst for Europe to play a leading role in Bluefield’s industrial water research practice. This role focuses on researching and analyzing industrial water demand, water-intensive industries, treatment technologies, infrastructure investment, corporate water strategies, regulatory drivers, and emerging trends shaping the future of industrial water management across Europe. The right candidate will grow into a trusted industry adviser, helping the strategy, marketing, business development, and innovation teams at leading water companies make informed decisions.
Become an expert on Europe’s industrial water markets
- Analyze trends, market dynamics, regulatory developments, and investment activity across Europe’s industrial water sector.
- Research water management strategies and market opportunities across water-intensive industries, including data centers, energy, manufacturing, chemicals, food and beverage, mining, pharmaceuticals, and semiconductors.
- Deliver data-driven market research and insights that help engineering firms, equipment manufacturers, major corporate water users, utilities, utility service providers, and investors assess market opportunities and competitive positioning.
- Build, maintain, and analyze proprietary datasets covering industrial water markets, technology providers, infrastructure projects, investments, and key market participants.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative research on industrial water demand, treatment technologies, water reuse, desalination, wastewater management, digital water solutions, and sustainability initiatives.
- Track major market developments, including decarbonization efforts, water stewardship programs, regulatory changes, corporate investments, partnerships, and technology adoption.
- Monitor European Union regulations, national policies, and sustainability frameworks shaping industrial water management and investment decisions.
- Interview industry leaders and stakeholders to gather market intelligence and validate research findings.
- Produce high-quality reports, presentations, and client briefings that deliver clear, actionable market insights, adapting information collection and presentation methods as new tools and AI applications reshape the industry.
- Collaborate closely with consulting, sales, marketing, and production teams as a team player in a mid-sized company environment, and represent Bluefield at client meetings, conferences, and industry events across Europe.
Show off your education, skills, and experience
- Two to five years of relevant experience in water industry research, market research, consulting, industrial markets, infrastructure analysis, environmental services, engineering, sustainability, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of Europe’s industrial water sector, including industrial water management, wastewater treatment, water technologies, sustainability strategies, or related infrastructure markets.
- Experience analyzing markets, technology trends, infrastructure investments, corporate strategies, or financial data.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex technical, market, and business information into clear, actionable insights.
- Excellent analytical, research, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting findings to executive audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or other data visualization and analytical tools, and a fast learner who can adapt to new technologies, including AI, for information collection and presentation.
- Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
- Curiosity about industrial innovation, sustainability, infrastructure, climate resilience, and the evolving global water sector, along with an interest in becoming a recognized industry expert who advises leading companies on strategy, marketing, business development, and innovation.
The basics
- Bachelor’s or graduate degree in environmental science, engineering, economics, public policy, business, finance, geography, or a related discipline. A master’s degree is a plus.
- Legal authorization to work in Spain/European Union.
- The position is based in our Barcelona, Spain office, full-time on-site for the first six months, transitioning to a hybrid schedule thereafter.
- Occasional travel throughout Europe for industry events, research, and client meetings.
