Who we are looking for

We have a contracted part-time 0.9 FTE position for a Regional Integrated Water Management (IWM) Forum Officer, based in Warrnambool.

This position is scheduled for 72 hours per fortnight, offered on a fixed-term basis through to 29 December 2028. It comes with a generous salary of $102,449 to $114,283 p.a. plus superannuation.

We’re looking for someone to drive the delivery of integrated water management initiatives across the Great South Coast region. Working collaboratively with partner organisations, you’ll turn strategic priorities into practical outcomes, build and maintain strong and trusted relationships, strengthen capability across the region, and support inclusive, collaborative approaches that create lasting environmental and community benefits.

 Job Description

What you’ll be doing

On a day-to-day basis, you’ll:

  • Support the development and refinement of business cases and project delivery plans for regional water management initiatives.
  • Build regional capability in IWM through knowledge sharing, coaching and targeting specialist support.
  • Coordinate the progression of forum-endorsed IWM initiatives and projects towards on-ground delivery.
  • Build on and stregthen trust, alignment, and partnerships across all IWM Forum member organisations.

 Desired Skills and Experience

What you’ll bring 

We’re looking for someone with 

  • Tertiary qualifications in environmental management, water resources, engineering, planning, natural resource management, or a related discipline.
  • A strong understanding of the policy, planning, governance and investment processes relevant to water, land use and/or natural resource management, and the ability to navigate the legal and institutional context in which IWM Forum partners operate.
  • The ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across organisations through collaborative, trust-based approaches to delivery.
  • A strong commitment to our Zero Harm ethos and accountability and high-quality outcomes for our people, our customers and the environment.
