Position Purpose
A technical coordination position within a dynamic nonprofit that helps communities recover after disasters and gets children back in school. This full-time role leads the design, implementation, monitoring and external coordination of emergency sanitation, water-treatment and hygiene activities for earthquake-affected people in formal and informal camps and host communities. Open to qualified national and international candidates.

Essential Functions
- Lead the design, implementation and monitoring of safe, inclusive emergency WASH activities in line with national requirements, Sphere Standards, and response priorities.
- Lead WASH assessments covering water access and quality, sanitation, hygiene risks, service gaps and community priorities.
- Prepare response strategies, technical designs, scopes of work, bills of quantities, specifications, work plans and procedures.
- Oversee installation and commissioning of emergency sanitation, handwashing, household and community filtration solutions.
- Design and oversee hygiene-kit and water-filter distributions, including targeting, demonstrations, feedback and post-distribution monitoring.
- Provide technical oversight, quality assurance, troubleshooting and coaching to field teams, volunteers, partners, contractors and vendors.
- Integrate community engagement, accountability, protection, safeguarding, and inclusion throughout the response.
- Support procurement through technical specifications, supplier evaluation, material inspection, asset tracking and appropriate storage.
- Maintain plans, budgets, and program data; track indicators; contribute to reporting and learning.
- Represent All Hands and Hearts in WASH coordination forums and with authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, service providers and communities..
- Implement WASH health and safety measures, including site risk assessment, safe chemical handling and incident reporting; perform other duties as required.
Position Requirements
- Education Bachelor’s degree in civil/environmental engineering, public health, water resources or a related field; equivalent relevant education and professional WASH experience accepted.
- Related Experience 1-2 years implementing emergency WASH programs, with experience in at least two of: sanitation, water treatment or filtration, water quality, or hygiene promotion.
- Special Competencies/Certifications Ability to prepare designs, bills of quantities and specifications; supervise installation quality; conduct water testing and treatment; and apply Sphere and WASH Cluster guidance. Relevant certification is an asset.
- Language Spanish fluency required; working knowledge of English preferred
- Strong communication, coordination, facilitation, representation, data-management and reporting skills. Proficient in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office; organized, solutions focused and able to manage competing priorities in a high-stress emergency environment.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
- Regularly works outdoors in adverse weather and around damaged or contaminated infrastructure
- Frequently moves items weighing up to 40 lbs on work sites or at base
- Frequently operates a computer and water-quality testing equipment
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position and navigate uneven terrain
- Frequently travels to remote project locations, camps and host communities
- May live in a communal environment
- Works in high-stress post-disaster settings with limited amenities and potential exposure to wastewater, treatment chemicals and other hazards; required personal protective equipment must be used.
Compensation & Benefits
- Typical starting salary is $1,550 – $1,763 USD / month, and up to $1,975 for highly qualified candidates who have previous experience in this role.
