Short-Term Scientific Mission (STSM) Researcher – Multi-Hazard Impact Databases and Impact-Based Forecasting

HR Wallingford (UK) is seeking applications for a funded Short-Term Scientific Mission (STSM) under the ANTICIPATE COST Action.

The successful applicant will contribute to a research project assessing the viability of multi-risk approaches to enhance Impact-Based Forecasting and Warning (IbFW) for weather-related hazards.

The mission will focus on the development and expansion of multi-hazard impact databases, building on existing work and exploring how methodologies used in different regions can support the advancement of impact-based forecasting and warning systems.

This opportunity is open to PhD students, early-career researchers, researchers, and practitioners with interests in natural hazards, climate and weather impacts, risk assessment, forecasting, disaster risk reduction, and related fields.

The selected researcher will work closely with scientists and engineers at HR Wallingford, gaining experience in applied research and consultancy while collaborating with an international network of experts through the ANTICIPATE COST Action.
