The organization aims to reach 4 million of India’s most deprived children between 2022 and 2024.

Role Description The STEM, Smart Class and WASH Facilitator is a full-time, on-site role based in Ahmedabad, responsible for implementing and supporting educational and WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) interventions in schools and community settings. The facilitator will conduct interactive STEM sessions, manage smart class technology and digital learning tools, and deliver age-appropriate WASH awareness and behavior-change activities for children and caregivers. Day-to-day work includes planning and conducting lessons, maintaining teaching aids and equipment, coordinating with school staff and community leaders, and monitoring participation and learning outcomes. The role involves regular data collection, basic reporting, and feedback to project teams to ensure program quality. The facilitator will also support training and orientation sessions, contribute to outreach events, and uphold child safeguarding and protection standards in all activities.

Qualifications

  • Strong facilitation and classroom management skills, with experience engaging children and adolescents in interactive learning.
  • Ability to use and troubleshoot basic smart class and digital learning tools, including computers, tablets, projectors, and educational software.
  • Knowledge of STEM concepts at school level and comfort in delivering simple science, technology, engineering, and mathematics activities.
  • Understanding of WASH principles and practices, and experience or interest in promoting hygiene, sanitation, and safe water behaviors.
  • Good communication skills in English and local/regional languages, with the ability to explain concepts clearly and sensitively.
  • Organizational and documentation skills, including maintaining records, preparing simple reports, and tracking attendance and outcomes.
  • Minimum of a graduate degree in education, social sciences, science, or a related field; formal training in teaching or facilitation is an advantage.
  • Prior experience working with NGOs, schools, or community-based programs, especially in child-focused or education initiatives, is preferred.
