About the role
As a Water Resources Hydraulic Modeler, you will support projects within water management, with a strong focus on flood risk management and flood protection. You will develop and apply hydraulic models (1D and 2D) to assess flood hazards, evaluate mitigation measures and provide technical input for evidence-based decision-making. You will be part of the Water Resources team in Poland, contributing to high-quality technical analyses and multidisciplinary projects.
Your key responsibilities
Hydraulic Modelling
- Develop, set up, calibrate and validate hydraulic models (1D and 2D) for rivers
- Perform flood hazard and flood risk analyses (extent, depth, velocity)
- Prepare and process input data (topography, hydrology)
- Conduct scenario-based simulations to assess flood protection measures
- Analyse and interpret modelling results to support engineering and planning decisions
Advisory & Project Delivery
- Deliver technical analyses supporting advisory services and decision-making
- Translate complex modelling outputs into clear, concise insights for clients
- Contribute to multidisciplinary projects (hydraulic, environmental, planning, economic)
- Ensure high-quality outputs aligned with project scope, timeline and standards
- Prepare technical reports, documentation and visualisations
- Present results to clients and stakeholders

Your profile
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Protection, Geography, Spatial Planning or similar
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of hydraulic modelling tools (MIKE or HEC-RAS)
- Knowledge of GIS tools (ArcGIS or QGIS)
- Experience in data preparation and analysis for modelling
- Ability to streamline and automate workflows
- Python knowledge is an advantage
Languages
- English at minimum B2 level
- Polish at minimum B2 level
