Job Summary/Basic FunctionNOTE: Position can be filled at any level of the approved career ladder depending on candidate qualifications.The Water Conservation & Stormwater Coordinator will work closely with WSU plumbing and landscaping staff to identify, plan, and execute water conservation projects. He/she will also be responsible for maintaining WSU’s water use records and analyzing the water reduction impacts of implemented projects. The Coordinator will also work under the Director of Utilities and Sustainability to identify, plan, and execute campus sustainability projects and programs. The Water Conservation & Stormwater Coordinator will be responsible for developing education/outreach material content. The Coordinator will also provide sustainability classroom presentations and campus tours as requested by WSU faculty, staff, and the community.
Required QualificationsRequired:Field related Bachelor’s Degree (environmental science/studies, water resources, geosciences, geography, urban planning, or a closely related field)1 year experience in water conservation, stormwater management, or sustainability.Must be able to successfully obtain APWA Registered Stormwater Inspector Certification within one year of employment date
Preferred QualificationsPreferred:Strong analytical and computing skills (Excel proficiency a must).Excellent communication skills, including but not limited to: technical writing, public speaking, and oral presentation.Excellent interpersonal skills.Strong organizational and research skills.Creative and collaborative problem solverOne year of experience as a ground sprinkler operator or plumber, or equivalency.One year of experience with Rain Master or equivalent smart irrigation management systemOne year or more of experience managing volunteers or staff.
