About Bal Raksha Bharat
Bal Raksha Bharat (also known as Save the Children) is India’s leading independent child rights organisation. It is a member of Save the Children movement that operates globally with the mission to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children and achieve immediate and lasting changes in their lives. We are working towards three breakthroughs in how the world treats children by 2030:
- No child dies from preventable causes before their fifth birthday
- All children learn from a quality basic education and
- Violence against children is no longer tolerated
We run programmes in the remotest corners of India and urban areas in the areas of Health & Nutrition, Education, Child Protection and Livelihood & Economic Wellbeing in order to facilitate quality education, healthcare and protection from harm and abuse and life-saving aid during emergencies to children.
ROLE PURPOSE
To strengthen STEM education and digital learning in project schools through effective utilization of STEM Labs, SMART Classrooms, teacher mentoring, student engagement, and experiential learning activities.
SCOPE OF ROLE
The WASH Facilitator will be responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and sustaining Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) interventions across project schools. The role focuses on improving hygiene behaviours, promoting safe sanitation practices, strengthening school WASH systems, and supporting schools in creating a healthy and child-friendly learning environment.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
- Conduct STEM and SMART classroom sessions for students (Grades 6–10/12).
- Facilitate hands-on learning using robotics kits, 3D printers, sensors, electronics kits, and science tools.
- Support teachers in integrating STEM and ICT-enabled teaching methodologies.
- Develop and implement STEM activity calendars and lesson plans.
- Coordinate STEM clubs, Children’s Groups, and innovation activities.
- Organize annual STEM exhibitions, science fairs, quizzes, and innovation challenges.
- Maintain STEM Lab and SMART Classroom assets and inventory.
- Support development of vibrant learning environments (BLES).
- Conduct periodic assessments to measure learning outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Science, Engineering, Computer Applications, Education, or related field.
- Experience working with government preferred
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Minimum 3 years of experience in STEM education, ICT education, robotics, coding, or school-based learning programs.

The duties and responsibilities as set out above are not exhaustive and the role holder may be required to carry out additional duties within reasonableness of their level of skills and experience.
CHILD SAFEGUARDING
Level 3: The role holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work in programs; or are visiting programs; therefore a police check will be required.
