The Department of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering at Oklahoma State University (OSU) is offering a Graduate Research Assistantship (GRA) for a qualified Ph.D. student beginning Fall 2026. The selected candidate will join the Hydrological Extremes Lab (https://www.hydroexlab.com/) and conduct research under the supervision of Dr. K.J. Jafarzadegan.
The GRA position will be located at OSU’s main campus in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Available Position
Flood Modeling and Management
Applicants should hold an M.S. degree in engineering, hydrology, or a closely related field, with a strong interest in flood characterization and modeling.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience with flood modeling software (particularly SWMM and HEC-RAS)
- Familiarity with machine learning or AI methods for environmental data analysis
- Programming experience in Python or similar languages
- Strong background in statistics and quantitative analysis
