Position Overview
Henrico County DPU is seeking a professional Engineer II to perform vital engineering work both in the field and office. This role involves monitoring and inspecting infrastructure projects, reviewing plans, permits, and contracts, and ensuring full compliance with county standards and local, state, and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Oversight: Monitor and inspect County infrastructure projects to ensure alignment with contract specifications and environmental standards.
- Plan Review & Design: Review and evaluate complex construction documents, proposals, plans, and designs for compliance and cost-efficiency.
- Stakeholder Communication: Present technical data, reports, and project updates clearly to county officials, developers, contractors, and the public.
- Project Management: Manage expenditures in line with County Finance policies and help foster high engagement and morale within project workloads.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: 4-year degree in a relevant field of engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Experience: 2 years of related professional engineering experience (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).
- Credentials: Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) designation is preferred.
- Background: Must successfully pass standard criminal history and fingerprinting background checks.
