Workforce Development Program Manager

The Watershed Project is seeking a full-time Workforce Development Program Manager to lead our Green Collar Corps (GCC) youth internship program and support workforce development pathways for emerging environmental professionals.
This position is responsible for recruiting, mentoring, and supervising youth and young adult interns (ages 17–24) while coordinating hands-on training, career exploration, and professional development opportunities. The Program Manager will work closely with staff across the organization to support environmental restoration projects, volunteer events, environmental education activities, and community engagement efforts throughout Richmond and the greater Bay Area.
Key responsibilities include managing intern recruitment and onboarding, coordinating schedules and trainings, conducting regular participant check-ins, tracking program outcomes, supporting grant reporting, and building partnerships with schools, community organizations, and workforce development programs. The role also includes field-based supervision at restoration sites, community events, and volunteer workdays.
The ideal candidate is passionate about youth development, environmental stewardship, and creating pathways into green careers. Experience working with young adults, coordinating programs, and building community partnerships is highly valued. Familiarity with restoration, environmental education, workforce development, or community-based nonprofit work is a plus.

Strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to build positive relationships with participants, partners, and colleagues are essential. Candidates should be comfortable working within a collaborative team structure and coordinating across multiple programs and departments.
Experience with hiring and recruitment, workforce development, environmental education, community engagement, or ecological restoration is preferred. Familiarity with Google Workspace, Zoom, Canva, timesheet management, or reimbursement tracking is a plus.
Candidates with bilingual English-Spanish skills and experience working in Richmond, San Pablo, Oakland, or similar communities are especially encouraged to apply.
