Offer Description
Position available within the research project entitled: “Sustainable solutions to reduce the environmental impact of WWTPs using hybrid integrated modelling and process control”, project number PN-IV-P2-2.1-TE-2023-0666
Carries out research and development activities within the scope of the project and performs other tasks in accordance with the project proposal and implementation plan. Improvement of existing models for the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) for the case study within the project using MATLAB. Formulation of sustainable solutions to minimize the environmental impact of the WWTP. Participates in training activities for other project members and students conducting research on the project topic, particularly on the WWTP theme. Participates in self-development activities in accordance with needs identified within the project. Contributes to the communication and dissemination of project results, including through writing scientific articles and participating in national and international scientific and technical events relevant to the project. Participates in meetings organized within the project, including the workshop on water quality. Contributes to the preparation of project reporting documentation by drafting the assigned sections in accordance with the activities outlined in this document and in the project implementation plan. Performs permanent or occasional tasks assigned within the project. The tasks listed are not exhaustive; the project director may assign additional specific tasks to ensure the successful implementation of the project.

Skills/Qualifications
Studies: PhD in Chemical Engineering
Direct experience with technological processes in urban WWTPs with tertiary treatment
stages and detailed knowledge of nutrient removal processes from wastewater.
Direct experience with modelling, simulation, and control of processes in WWTPs.
Strong knowledge of MATLAB for modelling, simulation, and control of wastewater
treatment plants (WWTPs).
Direct experience with technological processes in SEAU
Minimum of 20 Scopus-indexed publications, of which at least 15 are in the field of
wastewater treatment plants.
Minimum of 8 Scopus-indexed publications in the wastewater treatment field as first
author, including at least 2 articles ranked Q1 according to Impact Factor (IF) or AIS at the
time of publication or application.
Excellent IT skills in all core Microsoft Office products
Solid skills written and oral communication in Romanian and English
