Your next career opportunity
You will lead applied research on climate risk, water security and adaptation across Murray–Darling Basin case studies. You will work closely with basin communities, agencies and partners to develop practical, people-centred adaptation pathways.
What you will deliver:
- Conduct applied research on climate risk, water resources and adaptation pathways across multiple Murray–Darling Basin sites.
- Develop and apply numerical that inform water management decisions.
- Contribute to project management, partner liaison, reporting, and delivery of milestones for the OneBasin CRC program.
- Prepare high-quality journal articles, reports and presentations, and present findings at conferences and partner forums.
You may be a great fit if you:
- Hold a PhD in environmental engineering, environmental science or a closely related discipline.
- Bring demonstrated experience in numerical modelling, data analysis or modelling complex environmental systems.
- Demonstrate knowledge of climate variability, water resources, climate risk or adaptation frameworks relevant to basin planning.
- Collaborate effectively within large, dynamic multidisciplinary teams and across diverse stakeholder groups and partner organisations.
- Show a growing track record of publications, reports and presentations aligned with opportunity and career stage.
- Manage projects, competing deadlines and field or stakeholder activities with strong organisation and communication skills.

Your new team
You will join the Department of Infrastructure Engineering within the School of Electrical, Mechanical and Infrastructure Engineering. As part of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, the team tackles urgent water and climate challenges. You will work closely with OneBasin CRC partners from government, industry and communities, based in Mildura hub. Together, we pursue impactful, collaborative research that supports resilient, sustainable futures for the Murray–Darling Basin.
