The
Würzburg-Schweinfurt University of Applied Sciences (THWS) is one of the largest practice-oriented universities in Bavaria, offering a broad range of subjects in engineering, social sciences, economics, design, and languages. We support around 9,300 students in more than 70 degree programs. We address societal challenges such as the energy transition and the climate crisis with an innovative and international range of study options. We were pioneers in areas such as the development of bilingual degree programs (TWIN programs), the establishment of the first undergraduate program in hydrogen technology, and the software-focused robotics program. Digitalization is also a key focus for our university. As part of the Hightech Agenda Bavaria, the Free State of Bavaria is currently investing significantly in the further development of our university as part of the Bavarian AI network. This includes the establishment of a Center for Strong Artificial Intelligence at the Würzburg campus and a Center for Robotics at the Schweinfurt campus. Our more than 270 professors are not only passionate about teaching but also conduct applied research in collaboration with companies, institutions, and social organizations in the region. Successful knowledge transfer to industry and society is a hallmark of our professors, as is interdisciplinary collaboration across ten faculties and 16 research institutes. They are supported by approximately 630 staff members in academia, technology, and administration. At our campuses in Mainfranken, urban and rural areas, culture and nature converge – offering a correspondingly diverse range of leisure activities. Since 2022, THWS has been certified by the “audit familiengerechte hochschule” (audit for family-friendly universities) to accommodate the diversity of lifestyles and family structures and to actively promote the work-life balance of its employees.Continuous growth, innovative teaching, and forward-looking research characterize the atmosphere at our university. We currently have the following position available:
