Selection process
Applications will be evaluated according to the following criteria, each defined on a scale of 0 (zero) to 20 (twenty) points:
Criterion A – Curriculum evaluation, weighted at 80%
Criterion B – Letter of motivation, weighted at 20%
Candidates will be ranked according to the weighted average of the scores obtained in each of the two criteria, calculated using the following formula: CM = 0.8 x A + 0.2 x B.
Candidates with a CM of less than 10 (ten) points are excluded. For tie-breaking purposes, the ranking of candidates will be based on the scores assigned to each of the evaluation criteria, in the following order of precedence: criterion A, criterion B.
The jury may decide to include an Interview (E) in the evaluation process, in addition to the documentary evaluation of candidates who are placed in the top 20%. The final classification (CF) will be obtained by applying the following formula: CF = 0.65 x CM + 0.35 x E.
The jury reserves the right not to award the Research Scholarship in competition based on the result of the evaluation of applications and their suitability to the research objectives of the T3SH City project.
Important notice for candidates with degrees issued by foreign higher education institutions:
– Applicants with degrees issued by foreign higher education institutions may apply and will be assessed using the same criteria as applicants with degrees issued by Portuguese institutions, provided that they submit, with their application, proof of recognition of their academic qualifications and conversion of their final grade to the Portuguese grading scale in accordance with the applicable legislation.
– Applicants with foreign degrees who do not submit proof of conversion of their final grade to the Portuguese grading scale will be assessed with the minimum grade (10 points on a scale of 0 to 20) in criterion A.
– In any case, the scholarship contract with candidates with degrees issued by foreign institutions will only be signed upon presentation of proof of recognition of academic degrees and conversion of the final grade, as indicated above.
