KTH Royal Institute of Technology, School of Architecture and Built Environment
Job description
The main objective of the project is to quantify changes in both the spatial extent and depth of surface water over time. The project focuses on developing a scalable and efficient system for real-time monitoring of changes in water bodies on a global scale.
By combining advanced remote sensing techniques—including optical satellite imagery and radar data—with modern methods in deep learning, computer vision, and transfer learning, we aim to develop an innovative solution for analyzing water-related changes. This approach enables the estimation of water extent and level dynamics with high accuracy and rapid response times.
The developed system will provide a practical and scalable solution for continuous monitoring of surface water, which is of great importance for water resource management and sustainable development.
