Job description:
1) persons, who meet the requirements specified in the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (consol. text, Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, as amended) and the Statute of the Silesian University
of Technology of 3 June, 2019 (Legal Monitor of SUT of 2020, item 339) may enter the competition for the position assistant professor ;
2) estimated work commencement date: 01.10.2026 r.;
3) workplace and type of contract: Department of Water and Wastewater Engineering at the Faculty of Energy and Environmental Engineering, temporal employment contract;
4) anticipated period of employment: from 01.10.2026 r. to 30.09.2027 (with the possibility
of extension).
Requirements:
1) PhD or postdoctoral degree in engineering and technical sciences in the discipline of environmental engineering, mining, and energy;
2) at least a two-month internship abroad or a six-month internship in Poland at research, industrial, or local government institutions;
3) substantive participation in a research project financed from funds other than a grant;
4) publications in international scientific journals;
5) documented achievements in the promotion and popularization of science;
6) command of spoken and written English at a B2 level;
7) command of Polish sufficient to conduct classes.
Additional requirements:
1) Documented collaboration with industrial partners, evidenced by submitted reports on research or service work, patent applications, implementations, etc.;
2) experience in conducting research in the following areas: environmental monitoring; municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment technologies; and the application of physicochemical processes in the removal of pollutants, including micropollutants;
3) knowledge of operating analyzers, e.g., TOC, gas chromatograph, spectrophotometer;
4) experience in teaching chemistry, environmental chemistry, physicochemical analysis, and water and wastewater technology.

4) confirmation of at least two month internship abroad or at least six month domestic internship in a scientific research, industrial, or local government unit;
5) list of documented achievements in the promotion and popularization of science;
6) confirmation of substantive participation in a project financed from sources other than subsidies;
7) list of publications in internationals journals;
8) information on the direction of your future activities;
9) declaration of proficiency in English, both spoken and written, at a B2 level;
10) declaration of proficiency in Polish, both spoken and written (applies to candidates whose native language is not Polish);
11) candidate’s declaration that the Silesian University of Technology will be the primary place of employment;
12) statement of the field and discipline represented,
13) declaration of consent to be included in the number of employees conducting scientific activities, the so-called N number, in at least one of the declared disciplines.
