* Background of the recruitment and description of the project
The Environmental Hydrology Group in the Course of Rural and Environmental Sciences, Graduate School of Environmental, Life, Natural Science and Technology, Okayama University, conducts research aimed at the appropriate utilization and management of water resources. Our research topics include the elucidation of basin-scale hydrological processes, assessment of the impacts of human activities, real-time flood/drought runoff forecasting, and statistical analysis of increasingly frequent extreme precipitation events. In particular, the group seeks to develop new hydrological statistical analysis methods that explicitly account for uncertainty and variability.
The group is seeking highly qualified individuals with advanced knowledge and expertise in hydrological statistical analysis, data-driven modeling, and multi-scale watershed management.
Additionally, the successful applicant is expected to conduct education and research supervision or support for students in both Japanese and English.

Wages description:Basic annual salary and Performance-based annual salary : Assistant Professor 5,556,000-6,498,000yen, *Only for a person with PhD
An annual salary system is applied. The amount of annual salary is determined in consideration of the person’s educational background, work experience, etc. according to the Okayama University annual salary Regulations.
The percentage of annual performance pay depends on the length of service within six months prior to the base date (June 1 and December 1), and the performance rate varies depending on the results of the evaluation.
As allowances, commuting allowance, support allowance, housing allowance, adjustment allowance, etc. will be paid separately to the applicable employees.

Holidays :Saturdays and Sundays, national holidays, and December 29 to January 3 (Article 42, paragraph 2 of the Personnel Work Rules)
