Details: Climate Change, Energy and Water Division is seeking to employ Directors to work across a variety of sections within our Division.

The Climate Change, Energy and Water Division ensures the ACT remains a national and global leader in addressing climate change and promoting sustainable energy and water supply and use. Through policies and programs including active engagement with the community, we seek to reduce energy & water use, support renewable energy, promote environmentally sound transport choices, reduce waste and improve its management, improve information on climate change and increase resilience to our changing climate. These activities occur in all sectors including government, schools, business, community and households, and contribute to Canberra’s growth as a dynamic, sustainable and prosperous city.

There are several roles in the Office of Water in both water policy and program sections. Applications from policy specialists with water trade and/or Murray Darling Basin experience would be very welcome.

Eligibility/ Other Requirements:

  • Current driver’s licence is required.
  • Occasional weekend work will be required.

Desirable

  • Qualifications and/or knowledge in a relevant field such as public policy, water resource management, environment, energy and climate change, behaviour change, or project management is highly desirable. Successful candidates may come from a range of backgrounds.

Note: There are several positions available on both a permanent and temporary basis. Selection will be based on a written application, referee reports and as necessary, an interview. A merit pool may be established from this selection process to be used to fill policy or program roles on a temporary and permanent vacancies over the next 12 months.
