Postdoc in Water and Pollutant Flows from Land to Sea

KTH Royal Institute of Technology

Stockholm, Sweden 🇸🇪

KTH Royal Institute of Technology, School of Architecture and Built Environment

Job description

Water on land moves and can spread environmental pollutants from different sources and through different flow paths on its way to the sea. The flows go through soil water and groundwater as well as surface water. In order to understand the flow variations and changes over time, it is important to decipher the role and importance of the different water paths for runoff and spread of pollutants through the landscape to the coast and sea. It is also important to determine how well and with what degree of certainty/uncertainty we can quantify and predict water and pollutant flows under different current and future conditions on land and in the sea and climate. As a postdoctoral fellow, you will study these questions, through synthesis of different types of data, and data-driven and process-based modeling with a focus on the Baltic Sea and its whole catchment area.
