PhD Student Position: Aquatic Environmental Science via AGU

We are seeking a highly motivated M.S. or Ph.D. student (Ph.D. preferred) to join our research group in aquatic environmental science beginning Fall 2026. The successful candidate will investigate water quality and ecosystem processes in large lake systems, with particular emphasis on hypoxia, biogeochemical cycling, and the impacts of environmental change.

The position offers a Research Assistantship (RA) for at least the first two years, which includes a competitive annual stipend, full tuition waiver, and health insurance. Continued funding in subsequent years will be provided through Teaching Assistantships (TA), contingent on satisfactory academic progress and performance.

Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental science, geology, chemistry, biology, or a closely related field. A strong interest in fieldwork, laboratory experiments, and data analysis is essential. Prior experience with programming (e.g., R) is desirable but not required.
