This position is within the Division of Water, Water Infrastructure Branch. The branch Program Coordinator responsibilities include municipal planning, engineering and water infrastructure funding. The Program Coordinator we are seeking will work in the Water Infrastructure Branch in Franklin County.

This position works to support critical functions in the Drinking Water and Clean Water infrastructure construction approval programs. This staff member will interact daily with interesting people in the water industry, including utilities, consultants, engineers, and citizens. The position provides an opportunity for helping to successfully implement sustainable water infrastructure planning and construction, leading to the efficient delivery of safe, efficient water services in our communities. By working within this Branch, the position will serve as a liaison, coordinating various personnel to successfully deliver the project. This person is responsible for clear communication and maintaining documentation within internal databases. The outcomes from this protect human health and the environment and provide for current needs of citizens, while developing resilient communities in the future.

Holders of this Program Coordinator position will complete tasks such as:

  • Coordinate administrative functions of the Drinking Water and Clean Water Infrastructure Construction programs.
  • Analyze program support needs and recommend procedural or program changes to program staff, engineers, utilities, or other interested parties.
  • Provide support and collaborate with applicants and manage transfer of documents through online eForms portal.
  • Interpret drinking water and clean water construction program and State Revolving Fund program laws, regulations, policies and procedures.

Desired candidates possess the following requisite skills or experience applicable to the position:

  • Clear communication and strong interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Works well individually and with a team
  • Use of Microsoft software

Additional position information: Incumbents working in this position typically perform duties in an office environment, with the majority of time sitting at a desk.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION:Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor’s degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:Three years of professional experience in management or administration.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:A master’s degree will substitute for one year of the required experience.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:Administrative or business experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Working Conditions: Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting. Minimal travel may be required.

Probationary Period: This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
