Skills/Qualifications
The researcher will carry out, amongst other things, the following tasks: updating and reviewing the state of the art in the field of marine mammal conservation through the assessment of their ecosystem services; providing field support for animal photo-identification and positioning (GPS), animal behaviour, and the collection of biological and environmental samples by boat in the Strait of Gibraltar; providing laboratory support for incubation experiments and the analysis of biological samples (faeces and blow samples) in the laboratory.

Eligibility criteria
Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Marine Sciences. Master’s degree in Oceanography and/or in Environmental Management and Conservation.
Experience:
Proven prior experience in the field of marine mammal conservation.
Proven experience in the use of photo-ID techniques and the collection of data and biological samples from marine mammals using a boat.
Knowledge of the management and statistical analysis of datasets on animal positioning and environmental variables.
Demonstrable participation in studies and/or projects related to the project’s field (marine mammal conservation).
Languages: English, level C1 or above.
Other: Possession of a Category B driving licence and a diving qualification will be considered an additional merit.
