Natural Resources Access Regulator (NRAR) enforces the NSW water laws and offers guidance and education to help water users comply. We strive to be an efficient and effective regulator that celebrates and reflects the diversity of the community we serve.

Working with NRAR provides a chance to make sure water is used lawfully so that all communities and the environment get a fair share.

Our team is currently seeking to appoint a Project Officer to support Support NRAR’s Quality Management System and drives continual improvement in line with ISO 9001 standards including.

This includes managing assurance activities, monitoring and strengthening quality processes, and working closely with teams across the organisation to embed consistent, effective practices.

Provide project and quality management support by coordinating tasks, tracking progress, and ensuring deliverables meet expectations. Engage with stakeholders to gather insights, solve issues, and promote best practice. Offer technical expertise to help deliver projects that improve operational effectiveness and contribute to sustainable, fair, and secure water access across NSW.

Key accountabilities

  • Deliver a range of project management and support services, including preparing reports and briefs, coordinating resources, developing Teams training sessions, maintaining documentation, and implementing project plans to ensure outcomes are achieved on time, within budget, and to quality standards in line with agency methodology.
  • Maintain a Quality Management Systems by conducting quality assurance activities on systems and processes supporting continual improvement.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation for reporting, monitoring and evaluation purposes to ensure accessibility of quality information and contribute to the achievement of project outcomes, and support effective decision making
  • Identify and interpret relevant statutory provisions and prepare clear procedures for staff to provide clarity in the performance of their role
  • Engage and communicate with key stakeholders and coordinate working groups, committees and consultations to facilitate exchange of information to implement quality initiatives and best practices
  • Source, collate and compile data and information to identify emerging issues and track and report on project progress against established milestones and deliverables
  • Undertake research and analysis, identifying trends and preparing project briefs, to support informed decision-making and planning.
