Objective and Purpose of the Assignment
The goal of the assignment is to support the Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) in becoming an
accredited training provider, build required operational and institutional capacities and deliver
the water and wastewater operator training program at WAF during the project duration. The firm
will directly work with the WAF and its the training and development unit. At the end of the
assignment the consultancy will have supported WAF in rolling out the accredited water and
wastewater operator training program, training numerous water and wastewater operators from Fiji
and the Pacific and developing the in-house capacity for the sustainable delivery of the training
beyond the project duration. Key objectives of the assignment include:
- Project management: Effectively manage component 3 of the investment project, ensuring timely
delivery and the alignment of soft and hard components. - Organizational development: Support WAF in becoming a nationally and regionally accredited
training provider, integrate training operations into the WAF organisational structure, and ensure
sustainability of the water and wastewater operator training program. - Training capacity: Strengthen WAF’s training resources and capacities to provide trainings and
plan and administer training programs. - Training delivery and administration: Deliver water and wastewater operator trainings and
administer a scholarship program, to train water and wastewater operators from Fiji and the Pacific.
