Offer Description
The study of flood wave propagation in a river requires the evaluation of the influence of structures interfering with the current and narrowings that locally modify the width of the riverbed. The analysis is generally conducted using a simplified 1-D model. This research aims to conduct a detailed study using a two-dimensional numerical approach that is capable of adequately representing the processes of contraction and expansion of the river current in order to more accurately calculate the hydraulic characteristics of the current (water level and velocity). The results of the numerical analysis will be validated through laboratory experiments.
