Surface Water Intern
Digby Wells Environmental, a service provider to the resources industry, is looking for a Surface Water Intern to join our team in Bryanston, Johannesburg.
The successful candidate will assist the Surface Water team with water quantity and quality monitoring, analysis, and hydrological assessments across a range of environmental and water-related projects.
Job Objectives
● Assist with hydrology inputs into ESIA, EMP, IWWMP and IWULA processes
● Assist with water quantity and quality monitoring and analysis as part of baseline assessments
● Support floodline determinations and hydrological assessments
● Use HEC-RAS and other hydrology software for modelling and analysis
● Assist in the preparation of water permit applications and other regulatory submissions
● Conduct fieldwork, including site reconnaissance and water sampling
● Assist with technical report writing

Requirements
● Good time and budget management skills
● Basic project management implementation capability
● Strong written and verbal communication skills
● Self-motivated, proactive and creative
● Basic hydrology ad hydraulic modelling skills
● Basic understanding of the National Water Act and DWS guidelines
