ROLE PROFILE
TITLE: Project Assistant–WASH-(FOR MYANMAR NATIONAL ONLY)

CONTRACT LENGTH: Fixed Term

CHILD SAFEGUARDING:

Level 3:  the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the vetting process staff.
ROLE PURPOSE:

The WASH Project Assistant will be responsible for the successful management and implementation of emergency response activities in Rakhine State. To effectively plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Promotion Programme activities in the assigned villages -under direct supervision of Project Officer. As part of the WASH intervention, the Project Assistant will safeguard and improve the public health of the affected population by promoting safe hygiene practices, including the Hygiene Kits distribution and Cash for food activities to project beneficiaries. The Project Assistant will also ensure appropriate community involvement in the design and delivery of essential WASH services and PDM data collection. Additionally, the Project Assistant will support the implementation of the field level Emergency Project components in Rakhine State.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
•    Conduct baseline survey, WASH need assessment and data entry, and assist in design of project activities in line with agreed workplan.
•    Take steps to ensure that the programme benefits the poorest and most disadvantaged children.
•    Ensure community mobilisation and facilitate community-based project activities through regular interaction with children and community members, including providing training, guidance and support.
•    Assist PO to supervise and train Volunteers. 
•    Assist and facilitate capacity building training and community meeting for variety of stakeholders.
•    Liaise with other sectors of SCI, local authorities and departmental officials regarding the project activities as necessary.
•    Assist supervisor in preparing township project work plan, distribution plan and budget estimation.
•    Assist in procurement of materials, supplies and maintenance of project equipment and repair.
•    Assist PO and facilitate the community level Hygiene Kits and support for community level Cash for food distribution activities in targeted areas. 
•    Facilitate the community level Hygiene Promotion awareness session in project targeted area. 
•    Supervise Community volunteers and collaborate with community leaders in project targeted areas.
•    Facilitate the Post Distribution Monitoring data collection, QB data collection and community feedback collection for intime maintaining and adaptation the program quality. 
•    Keep records of activities, and report regularly and as requested on programme progress.
•    Any other duties and tasks assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
•    Any University degree/ high school level 
•    Knowledge of community level distribution and training experience and Hygiene Promotion 
•    At least 3 years’ experience in humanitarian response program activities in Rakhine.

•    Fluent of Local languages
•    Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure. 
•    Can be work under pressure. 
•    The interpersonal skill must be skilful. 
•    Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation developing effective working relationships to deliver outstanding results for children.
