Bluefield Research is expanding our commercial footprint across the global water sector and is seeking a Sales Associate to support revenue growth across its portfolio of market intelligence, data, and advisory services.

The Sales Associate will play a direct role in driving revenue by identifying, qualifying, and closing new business opportunities while supporting client engagement across the full sales cycle. This position will focus on East Coast accounts and contribute to broader North America sales efforts. The role reports to the Director of Sales and works closely with the Marketing and Research teams.

Bluefield’s clients include utilities, engineering firms, technology providers, and investors seeking strategic insight into a rapidly evolving water landscape. This position offers a clear path to full-cycle sales responsibility and account ownership with demonstrated performance.

Responsibilities of this talented and highly motivated individual are the following:

  • Drive revenue growth: Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities across Bluefield’s portfolio of research, data, and advisory services
  • Engage prospective clients: Lead outbound and inbound efforts to connect with decision-makers across utilities, technology providers, investors, and service firms
  • Develop commercial narratives: Translate Bluefield’s research and insights into clear, compelling value propositions for clients
  • Manage the sales process: Own pipeline development, track opportunities, and report on performance metrics
  • Support client relationships: Assist in onboarding, renewals, and expansion of existing accounts through cross-sell and upsell opportunities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Work closely with research and marketing teams to align client needs with Bluefield’s offerings
  • Capture market intelligence: Gather client feedback and market signals to inform research priorities and commercial strategy

Previous experience should include:

  • 1–3 years of experience in sales, business development, or client-facing roles
  • Experience selling or presenting information products (e.g., research, data, media, or subscriptions)
  • Comfort operating in a consultative, insight-driven sales environment with evolving client needs
  • Ability to manage the full sales cycle from initial contact to deal closure
  • Strong communication skills across phone, video, and in-person settings
  • Demonstrated ability to manage activities, track progress, and report on performance
  • Intellectual curiosity and interest in market dynamics, data, and strategic analysis
  • Willingness to travel for conferences and client meetings, as needed

The Basics:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with HubSpot and webinar platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams) preferred
  • Fluency in English
  • Boston-based role with in-office expectations (minimum three days per week)
  • U.S. work authorization required
