Alluvium’s work in the LMB is organised across three main programs: integrated water, climate resilience and energy transition. Within these programs, Alluvium is implementing projects across the Mekong region on a range of topics such as water scarcity, climate adaptation, impacts of  hydropower development, climate resilient water management, nature-based solutions, river basin planning, water governance and water resources modelling.

We have grown across the region with team members now based in Ho Ch Minh City, Can Tho, Vientiane, Bangkok and Phnom Penh.

But there’s more work to do. We need your help in growing a thriving business providing trusted and innovative consulting services at the intersection of people and nature.

About this role

We are implementing a large river basin master planning project in Cambodia. To support high quality implementation and delivery we are looking for someone with experience in water-using sectors including rural development, agriculture, and/or water management with strong project management skills.

The role will support both the management and technical delivery of the project, working closely with General Manager of International.

We are looking for someone that:

  • Has experience in water-using sectors in Cambodia, including water management, rural development and/or agriculture.
  • Has experience managing projects, finance and reporting to donors such as the Asian Development Bank.
  • Is flexible, adaptative, driven and has aspirations to work with a high performing team.
  • Understands that technical excellence is critical to making a positive impact and for successful delivery of a project.
  • Shares our commitment to making a postiive impact for communities and the environment in the Mekong.
  • Must be based in Phnom Penh. The role will be part time (up to three days a week) and employed on a contract basis. The project duration is 12 months.

What you will be doing in this role

  • Support the day-to-day management of the ADB project, including tracking deliverables, coordinating team inputs, maintaining schedules, and ensuring activities are delivered in line with the workplan and contract requirements
  • Support the technical delivery of the project, including preparation and review of project reports and deliverables to ensure they meet quality standards, client expectations, and ADB requirements.
  • Assist with project administration tasks such as preparing invoices, tracking contract variations, maintaining project documentation, and supporting communications and reporting to the client.
  • Coordinate inputs from subcontractors and partners, including managing contracts, tracking deliverables, and ensuring alignment with project timelines and quality standards.
  • Work closely with the project leadership team to coordinate inputs from different technical specialists, facilitate meetings and workshops, and support effective collaboration across the project team.

Skills and Experience:

Strategic skills and experience:

  • Genuine interest in contributing to positive environmental and social outcomes in the region.
  • Strong understanding of development programs in Cambodia, including government institutions and donor processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate teams, manage tasks and timelines, and support high-quality project delivery.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills, with the ability to contribute to research and technical outputs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Khmer and English.

Technical skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in relevant field (e.g. water resources management, agriculture, environment, international development)
  • Minimum 5 years’ of relevant professional experience (e.g. water resources management)
  • Experience supporting delivery of complex donor-funded projects (preferably ADB, World Bank, DFAT or similar).
