Offer Description

We are seeking a motivated Ph.D. candidate in Water Management and Water Engineering to join an interdisciplinary research project funded by the Czech Science Foundation:

Project No. 26-23833S – “Multiphysics interaction of ice with flow in variably saturated porous media.”

The successful candidate will participate in experimental and modelling research focused on freeze–thaw processes and transport phenomena in porous media.

Skills/Qualifications

Applicants must hold an M.Sc. degree (or equivalent) in Water Management, Water Engineering, Soil Science, Environmental Engineering, Physics, or related fields.

The following experience will be considered an advantage:

  • Laboratory methods in soil physics,
  • Porous media research,
  • 3D image analysis.

Required skills:

  • Working knowledge of programming (preferably Python, R, or MATLAB),
  • Good command of English (reading and writing).
