What you’ll do?

As a Graduate Civil Engineer based in Stantec’s Wellington office, you will join a friendly and collaborative team and contribute to providing designs, calculations, reporting, construction monitoring, and advice for our clients regionally, nationally and even globally.

Our Wellington water team are involved in a wide variety of drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater projects. Some of our current projects include;

  • Complex multidiscipline treatment plant upgrades.
  • Central city infrastructure upgrades.
  • Design and construction of pipe renewals, pump stations reservoirs and culverts.
  • Wastewater and drinking water network planning and design.

Day to day tasks could include:

  • Site visits to review project progress, perform tests and completing site walkovers to ensure sites are operating safely.
  • Performing data analysis and design calculations.
  • Workshops, training, and career development opportunities.
  • Reviewing designs and drawings for construction projects.
  • Completing risk assessments, reports, memos, and other project management documentation
  • With the variety of projects we work on, day-to-day will look different to your peers and will change over the weeks and months.

Your Role:

  • Work across the entire project lifecycle, from concept to design and construction monitoring (onsite).
  • Gain exposure to project management and client management.
  • Join a large, nurturing, and diverse team that works on local, national and international projects.
  • Collaborate with and learn from national and international industry experts.

What You Bring:

  • Recent graduate with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (hon) or similar
  • Motivated, pragmatic, and eager to learn across various disciplines
  • Strong interest in water engineering
  • Demonstrated personal leadership qualities and thrive in challenging environments

Eligibility :

  • Be a recent graduate or due to finish studies by December 2026
  • Preferably have a full clean current driving licence
  • Working Rights: Student Visa, Permanent Resident, Citizen
