| Position Description | The Chattopadhyay Ecohydrology Lab at Texas State University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work at the interface of eco-hydrology, freshwater ecology, and environmental DNA (eDNA) analysis. | Required Qualifications | PhD in ecology, environmental science, hydrology, biology, or a closely related field (completed by start date).Experience with freshwater field research and environmental sampling.Familiarity with eDNA workflows, including water sampling and filtration (wet-lab processing experience is welcome but not required).Working knowledge of R/Python for ecological data analysis (data handling, visualization, multivariate analyses).Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within an interdisciplinary team. |
| Preferred Qualifications | Experience working in stream or river systems, particularly intermittent or disturbed systems.Exposure to eDNA data interpretation (metabarcoding and/or qPCR).Experience integrating ecological data with hydrologic or spatial datasets.Interest in expanding quantitative or computational skills (e.g., advanced modeling, machine learning). |
