The candidate’s main tasks will involve hydrological and hydrogeological modeling of the study areas in Portugal (Samora Correia and Vila Viçosa) and in the partner countries of the DRYAD project, using MODFLOW 6 code and related modules. Remote sensing-derived products will be integrated into the models for calibration (via PEST/PEST++) and for regionalization of results using machine learning algorithms. Field surveys in the Portuguese study areas will be required to maintain and upgrade the monitoring network.
