As a Water Resources Engineer in the Environmental Analysis Team, you will be responsible for providing expertise to support the development and execution of stormwater strategy implementation projects programs and plans. Primary duties include:
- Provide technical and project management expertise in the watershed management systems planning, modeling, design, operation, and analysis.
- Participate in the development of watershed/stormwater management plans and implementation of plan recommendations.
- Incorporate deep understanding of Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) design and analysis into multi-disciplinary team work on GSI initiatives, assessments, and designs.
- Provide water resources management expertise to innovate and address complex sub watershed water quality challenges.
- Interpret water quality guidelines and requirements by regulators through regional plans and develop management strategies and projects to achieve compliance.
- Demonstrate expertise in configuring water quantity and quality assessment/modeling and prepare reports with recommendations.
Qualifications
- A degree in Civil or Environmental Systems Engineering and at least 4 years of relevant professional engineering experience obtained after receiving your P. Eng. Designation and a current licensure as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) complete with practicing status OR licensure and practicing status by the first day of work. - Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience using water quality modeling tools is essential: PC SWMM, Storm Water Management Models, hydrotechnical analysis and statistical tools.
- Experience in the analysis and interpretation of surface water hydrology and quality information and in water quality guidelines interpretation would be an asset.
- You are a strong communicator with excellent analytical, presentation, and project management skills, along with the ability to influence people, build relationships, and manage time efficiently.
