This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week.
The remuneration range for this role is $86,230 to $121.736 p.a. (including KiwiSaver), depending on skills and experience.
The opportunity
As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in renewing and improving essential water infrastructure across the region. You will take ownership of non-complex capital projects from early investigation and scoping through to design coordination, construction, commissioning and handover. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, problem‑solving, and working closely with contractors, councils, and internal teams to deliver safe, efficient and high‑quality outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Experience delivering infrastructure projects across the full lifecycle—from scoping through to completion
- Strong ability to coordinate design, technical review and constructability assessments
- Confidence working with contractors, consultants and operational teams to resolve delivery challenges
- Commitment to safety, environmental standards and regulatory compliance
- Clear communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and customers
